A fitness suite providing the local community of Walker with a perfect training facility at a low and realistic price. Walker Activity Dome has a long and positive relationship with the residents in the east of Newcastle and exists as a hub for sport and physical activity.

The fitness suite offers a great range of both cardiovascular and strength equipment and members can also access a variety of fitness classes including indoor cycling.

Inductions are available at various times throughout the week and at weekends.


  • Boot Camp

    A Boot Camp is usually an outdoor fitness class.

    The types of activities involved in a Boot Camp will vary depending on who is running the session, and the audience the class is aimed at.

    These types of classes will also often vary in intensity, and in terms of the fitness levels required of participants to get involved.

    If in any doubt check with the Boot Camp provider about what will be involved in the session.

  • Boxercise

    Boxercise uses training techniques that have been used by boxers for many years to keep fit.

    Classes can be varied and will be led by a qualified instructor. A typical class might consist of shadow-boxing, skipping, padwork, press-ups, shuttle-runs and sit-ups. Most boxercise classes are aimed at both men and women of all ages and fitness standards.

    Boxercise training is also is a safe way to release your aggression in a channelled and controlled way and no class involves the physical hitting of an opponent.

  • Circuit Training

    Circuit training is an efficient and challenging form of conditioning. It works well for developing strength, endurance (both aerobic and anaerobic), flexibility and coordination. A great time saver, it can be a refreshing and fun change from the more monotonous types of exercise.

    Classes are lead by a trained instructor who will provide support and motivation to help you get round the circuit.

    A circuit class typically consist of multiple exercises or stations completed in timed blocks with regular timed rest periods between each exercise. Circuit training can be tailored to the individual and is an excellent class for all levels of fitness.

  • Indoor Cycling

    Indoor Cycling is a studio based exercise class using specially designed stationary bicycles that can be easily adjusted to suit all users. You control the intensity of the exercise and determine your own levels of exertion.

    A typical Indoor Cycling class involves a single instructor at the front who leads the class through a series of routines. They will use motivational music and lead you through the session which begins with a warm up, followed by seated and standing exercises. This form of exercise work’s the muscles and joints in the legs and buttocks and is a huge calorie burner.

    It is recommended to bring plenty of water.

  • Zumba

    Zumba is for everyone! You can do it regardless of size, shape, fitness level, or coordination ability.

    Latin rhythms and basic dance steps are fused to create an explosive party (minus the tequilla) of a workout that burns up to 1000 calories an hour and leaves you on a high, and wanting more! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.

    Add some Latin flavor and International zest into the mix and you've got ZUMBA!
